Privacy

This site is operated by Montana Property Reports, LLC of Livingston, Montana. This page explains what we collect, which is very little, and what we do with it.

The short version

Montana Contractor Guide is free. There are no accounts, nothing is for sale, and no contractor pays to appear. We count visits with Google Analytics. If you fill in the project form, we store what you typed and read it ourselves. We do not sell personal information, and we do not hand your details to a contractor unless you ask us to.

Reading the site

You can read every guide, search the well driller records, and browse the licensed installer lists without giving us anything. There is no login, no newsletter signup, and no comment system.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits, served from montanareports.com. It sets cookies so one person moving between our sites is counted once. Advertising features are off (Google Signals and ad personalization disabled), and the tag never sends email addresses, phone numbers, or anything you type.

What it does record is ordinary web traffic information: which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, what kind of device and browser was used, and which site or search referred you. We look at that to learn which guides are useful and which are ignored.

The project form

The form at Start a project is the only place this site collects anything you type. It asks for five things: your name, an email address or phone number, your county, the kind of work you need, and a description of the property and project.

Where it is stored
Netlify Forms, the form service built into our web host. Netlify keeps the submission so we have a record of it.
Who reads it
A person. Submissions are emailed to matt@paradisevalleymedia.com, sent by Netlify from formresponses@netlify.com. Nothing is automated and no reply is generated by a machine.
Where it does not go
We do not forward your submission to contractors as a lead, and we do not sell it. If we think a particular contractor is right for your project, we will tell you who and let you decide whether to make the call. If you would rather we make the introduction, say so and we will.
How long we keep it
As long as the conversation is useful, and we will delete it sooner if you ask.

The form includes a hidden field that spam robots fill in and people do not. If it gets filled in, the submission is discarded.

What we never do

  • We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
  • We do not pass visitor details to contractors, or to anyone else, without you asking us to.
  • We do not run advertising on this site, and we do not use analytics for ad targeting.
  • We do not ask for or store payment details, because nothing here is for sale.

Asking what we hold, or asking us to delete it

Write to matt@paradisevalleymedia.com and ask. We will tell you what we have and delete it if you want it gone. You do not need to give a reason, and there is no form to fill in.

Google holds the analytics data separately under its own terms. You can block it entirely with a browser extension or by turning off cookies for this site, and the guides will work exactly the same.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the effective date above changes with it.
